24/7 emergency commercial door repair — Metro Vancouver
The door goes down at 11pm on a Tuesday. The loading dock is stuck open. There is a driver waiting, product on the dock, and the facility manager is on the phone trying to figure out who to call. This is the scenario we built our emergency service around. Not a we will have someone there by morning response — an actual response, at night, in the rain, because the door being down costs you money and creates a security problem that cannot wait until morning.
What Counts as a Commercial Door Emergency
Any situation where the door being inoperable creates an active business impact or security exposure is an emergency call. That includes door stuck open meaning security and weather exposure, door stuck closed meaning no dock or facility access, door off-track meaning potential to fall, door with broken spring where the operator is the only thing holding it, and operator running but door not moving meaning broken cable or chain with door about to drop.
Our Emergency Response
We target a two-hour on-site response for emergency calls within Metro Vancouver. Richmond, Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Delta — we are typically faster than two hours. We carry the most common commercial door emergency parts on the truck: torsion springs in the most common commercial sizes, lift cables, cable drums, bottom brackets, common operator components including capacitors and boards for Manaras and LiftMaster common units, photo eyes, and safety edges. Most emergency calls get resolved on the first visit without ordering parts.
Common Emergency Scenarios
Door will not open, operator runs but nothing moves: usually a broken spring or detached cable. Confirm with balance test and visual cable inspection.
Door will not close, reverses immediately: usually photo eye fault or safety edge circuit open. Check eye alignment, check edge circuit. Often fixable in 20 minutes.
Door off-track: assess cause — broken cable, broken bottom bracket, roller failure, impact. Release tension, re-track carefully, fix cause, test.
