What We Fabricate

Steel tube frame gates with flat bar infill are the standard for commercial and industrial applications. The tube frame provides structural rigidity and the flat bar, round bar, angle iron, perforated sheet, or plate fills the opening. The infill pattern affects security, visibility, and weight. For warehouse yards and industrial facilities we typically fabricate in 50mm or 65mm square tube frame with flat bar or expanded metal infill. For strata and commercial properties where aesthetics matter more we use smaller tube sizes with more refined bar arrangements, powder-coated in a colour that matches the building. Aluminum fabrication is appropriate for lighter-duty applications or where corrosion resistance in a coastal environment is the priority. Aluminum gates are significantly lighter than equivalent steel construction, which reduces operator load and wear. For a security gate that needs to resist vehicle impact or forced entry, steel is the specification.

Powder Coat vs Paint

We finish all fabricated gates in powder coat. In Metro Vancouver wet climate, liquid paint on outdoor steel fails within a few years — moisture gets under the paint at any scratch or edge and the paint blisters and peels. Powder coat is electrostatically applied and cured at high temperature, bonding to the steel rather than sitting on top of it. Far more durable in outdoor coastal environments.

The process starts with a site visit — we measure the opening, assess the mounting points, look at what the operator and access control need to integrate with, and understand the specific requirements.
