Manaras Control Stations & Traffic Lights

The three-button station on the wall is the most-used part of any commercial door system, and the most casually specified. Manaras makes interior and sealed exterior versions, a mushroom-head momentary station, and LED traffic/dock lights that stop the forklift-versus-door incidents before they happen. Here is the range and where each belongs.

Push-Button Control Stations

Model Buttons Rating Where it belongs
STATION020 Open / Close / Stop (2 NO + 1 NC) Nema 1, steel, UL listed; 2.38″ × 5″ × 1.81″ Interior walls in ordinary rooms (order STATION084 for French tags)
STATION078 Open / Close / Stop (2 NO + 1 NC) IP66 / Nema 4, 4X & 13, polycarbonate, UL + CSA; −25°C to 70°C; rated to survive 70-bar pressure washing Exterior walls, washdown rooms, loading docks (STATION078F = French)
STATION088 One green mushroom head, spring return (2 NO) IP66 / Nema 4, 4X & 13, polycarbonate, UL + CSA Open-only or open/close impulse duty, gate posts, drive lanes, positions where a glove needs to hit one big button

Stations wire in B2 or C2 mode: momentary contact to open/close, or momentary to open/stop with constant pressure to close, the wiring mode interacts directly with what entrapment protection the door has, which is why a station swap is not always the five-minute job it looks like.

LED Traffic & Dock Lights

Model Supply Notes
TRAFFIC036A / 037A 120VAC / 24VDC Red-green LED, safety-yellow polypropylene casing; single or two-unit sets for opposite sides of the door; −29°C to 54°C
TRAFFIC046A / 047A 120VAC / 24VDC Low-draw (30/70 mA), constant-brightness AC/DC input, sun visors and ultra-bright LEDs for direct sunlight

Typical homes: loading docks, parkade entries, car washes and drive-through lanes, anywhere a driver needs a clear go/no-go before committing to the opening. The lights stand alone or tie into auxiliary safety systems.

Specifying Notes From the Field

The classic mistakes are a Nema 1 steel station rusting on an exterior wall, and an unsealed station undoing a washdown room’s rating, if the room gets hosed, it is STATION078 or nothing (see the washdown operator page). On docks, mount traffic lights where the *driver* sees them at approach height, not where the electrician found convenient conduit. And any station on a monitored operator inherits the UL 325 behaviour: One point that causes repeated confusion: on a UL 325 monitored circuit, a failed safety device makes the operator refuse to close. That is correct behaviour, not a malfunction. A door that suddenly will not close, with no other symptom, is very often a photo eye or sensing edge that has failed or drifted out of alignment.
