LiftMaster MAXUM DC Commercial Operators

LiftMaster MAXUM DC Commercial Operators

MAXUM DC is LiftMaster’s newer commercial platform: a 24 V DC motor drive in place of the AC motors used across the Logic 5.0 line. Four models share it — JDC (jackshaft), TDC (trolley), JHDC (jackshaft hoist) and RJDC (jackshaft with manual release).

The number that matters is the extended duty rating. Standard configuration runs 20 cycles per hour and 90 per day; the extended configuration runs 30 cycles per hour and 150 per day — a meaningful step up from the 90/day ceiling on the comparable AC units.

LiftMaster publishes no horsepower rating for the MAXUM DC line. The specification states “24 V DC motor drive” and nothing further. DC operators are not rated in horsepower the way AC motors are, so any HP figure quoted for a JDC, TDC, JHDC or RJDC is unofficial — we will not print one.

What the DC platform actually changes

Four things, all of them practical:

Speed. Roughly 12 inches per second of door travel.

Connectivity. myQ Facility Wi-Fi is built in rather than added as a module, so door status and history are available without a separate gateway.

Battery backup. A DC45AH battery pack keeps the door running through an outage — on a parkade or a dock that is the difference between an inconvenience and a building that cannot operate.

Voltage flexibility. 120/240 V single or three phase and 480 V three phase are native; 208 V and 600 V three phase are handled with a transformer accessory.

Which of the four, and the RJDC exception

JDC, TDC and JHDC follow the usual jackshaft / trolley / hoist split. The RJDC is the one worth knowing about: it adds a manual-release sash chain and carries three monitored safety inputs.

Manual release from floor level matters wherever staff need the door open during a power failure without a lift. The three monitored inputs matter wherever more than one entrapment-protection device is required — photo eyes plus an edge, for instance — and each has to be monitored rather than simply wired in.

Key features

  • 24 V DC motor drive across all four models.
  • Approximately 12 in/sec door speed.
  • myQ Facility Wi-Fi built in.
  • DC45AH battery backup available.
  • 120/240 V 1Ø and 3Ø, 480 V 3Ø native; 208 V and 600 V 3Ø via transformer accessory.

Authorized LiftMaster dealer in Metro Vancouver

CCGDS is an authorized LiftMaster dealer. On commercial work the important part is matching the duty rating to how the door is actually used — an operator specified for 90 cycles a day on a door that runs 300 will fail early, and that failure is a specification error, not a product defect. We size from the real cycle count.

Installation, service and repair across the Lower Mainland

We install, service and repair LiftMaster commercial operators in Richmond, Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Delta, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Langley and North Vancouver. Typical work: commissioning and limit setup on a new install, diagnosing a control board or input fault, replacing worn drive components, and adding safety devices — photo eyes, sensing edges, light curtains — to an operator already in service.
