What the LEDs Are Telling You
The Manaras ECB Board 070 uses a row of diagnostic LEDs to report the operator’s status and faults in real time. Each LED corresponds to a specific input, output, or safety circuit. When the door stops mid-cycle or refuses to move, the pattern on that row is the fastest way to narrow the cause — before you pull a single wire.
LED Layout and What Each Position Means
The board labels each LED next to its terminal block. From left to right on a standard 070 board you will typically see:
Power / Logic LEDs
- 24VAC — Control transformer output is present. If this is off, the 40 VA Class II transformer or its 2 A fuse has failed.
- 24VDC — On-board DC supply for relays and logic. Drops out if the 24VAC is missing or the bridge rectifier has opened.
- CPU / RUN — Microprocessor heartbeat. A steady blink (roughly 1 Hz) means the firmware is running. Solid on or solid off means the processor has halted — usually a brown-out or a corrupted non-volatile memory write.
Safety Input LEDs
- PHOTO / EYE — Photo-eye circuit. On when the beam is made, off when broken. A rapid flicker means misalignment or dirty lenses; the board sees an intermittent signal and will not close.
- EDGE / SAFETY EDGE — Bottom-edge or side-edge sensor. Same logic: on = circuit complete, off = fault. On a monitored edge, a specific flash code (two short, one long) tells you the 10 kΩ terminating resistor is missing or the wrong value.
- COAST / CENTRIFUGAL — Centrifugal switch feedback from the motor. The board expects this signal before it will reverse direction. If the LED never lights during travel, the switch, its wiring, or the motor shaft is the problem.
Limit and Position LEDs
- OPEN LIM / CLOSE LIM — Limit switch status. On when the corresponding limit is made. If both are on simultaneously, the limit cam is misadjusted or the switches have been wired to the wrong terminals.
- MID STOP — Programmable mid-stop position reached. Used for ventilation or partial-open delivery positions.
Command Input LEDs
- OPEN CMD / CLOSE CMD / STOP CMD — Light when the board sees a valid signal from the wall station, radio receiver, loop detector, or access control. If you press the wall button and the corresponding LED does not light, the fault is in the wiring or the station — not the board.
Output / Relay LEDs
- MOTOR FWD / MOTOR REV — Heavy-duty relay coils driving the motor contactor. They should mirror the command LEDs with the 1.5 s reverse-delay built in. If a command LED is on but the matching motor LED stays off, the relay driver or the relay itself has failed.
- LOCK / BRAKE — Door-lock solenoid or motor brake output. Activates on close command and releases on open. A stuck lock will keep this LED on while the door tries to open, tripping the overload.
Radio / Accessory LEDs
- RADIO 1 / RADIO 2 / RADIO 3 — On-board rolling-code receiver channels. Blink once per valid transmitter press. No blink = transmitter not learned, dead battery, or receiver fault.
Common Flash Patterns and What to Do

The 1.5-Second Reverse Delay Is Not a Fault
The board builds in a mandatory 1.5 s delay before reversing direction. During that window the MOTOR FWD and MOTOR REV LEDs will both be off. Do not interpret the pause as a failure — it protects the gearbox and door from shock loading. If the delay feels longer, the programmable maximum run timer may be set too short and the board is hitting the timer before the limit.
When the Board Itself Is the Problem
Board 070 separates the power board from the control board, linked by a single quick-connect socket. Reseat that socket first — vibration works it loose over months of cycles. If the CPU LED still shows a solid lock-up after a full power cycle (pull the 120 VAC feed, wait ten seconds, re-apply), the control board has a memory or processor fault. Swap the control board; the power board and field wiring stay in place.
What You Can Check Before Calling
1. Verify 120/208/240 VAC at the operator disconnect.
2. Confirm the 2 A fuse on the power board is intact.
3. Clean photo-eye lenses and confirm the PHOTO LED is steady on with the door open.
4. Press each wall-station button and watch the corresponding CMD LED.
5. Cycle the door manually with the chain hoist or hand crank — feel for binding, broken spring, or locked door. The board detects an unbalanced door or engaged lock and will stop travel; the LOCK LED stays on in that case.
If the LEDs still show a safety-chain break you cannot clear, or the CPU will not restart, the operator needs a technician with a Board 070 spare and a laptop for the programming cable. The board stores every parameter in non-volatile memory — limits, mid-stop, timer-to-close, force profiles — so a board swap restores the site setup without re-teaching the door.
